However, as the piece evolved emotionally and spiritually, the title shifted to Exodus 14:14. The focus moved away from friendship alone and toward reassurance: the reminder that God Himself fights on behalf of those who trust Him. The statue-like form reflects endurance and permanence, while the subtle weathering, cracks, and erosion symbolize the hardships, struggles, and emotional pressure people accumulate over time. Despite these imperfections, the bust remains steady, calm, and unmoving. This directly mirrors the verse’s instruction to “be still.” Rather than portraying physical action or conflict, the piece communicates strength through stillness and quiet resilience. The carved inscription “Exodus 14:14” embedded into the chest transforms the verse into something physically carried within the figure itself, almost like a permanent spiritual foundation. The classical appearance also evokes timelessness, suggesting that the struggle to trust God and remain at peace is universal across generations. Ultimately, the painting becomes both a tribute to friendship and a message of encouragement, reminding the viewer that strength does not always come through force or action, but often through faith, patience, and trust in God’s guidance.
